John Fox is a family run business who have over 45 years of rental experience of excavator attachments in the UK. They provide market leading equipment and professional advice for the construction, demolition, and recycling industries.
As one of the original Montabert distributers they were at the pioneering stage of hydraulic hammer hire, offering Montabert Breakers in the UK for over 40 years.
The company were initially getting their stock from the main importers to the UK, but this company later closed.
John Fox considered being a dealer for Montabert but wanted the flexibility to offer other brands to their customers. Therefore, today they go to Worsley Plant, who became the first fully accredited UK Montabert Dealer in April 2020.
Established in 1921, Montabert have over 100 years of expertise and that’s why their Breakers are very well established in the market and have one of the highest reputations in the industries they sell into.
With a network of 150 dealers around the world, they provide the best service and solutions in Breaker technology.
Gareth Hann the Operations Manager at John Fox has over 30 years of experience working with Montabert Breakers and has nothing but positive things to say about them.
Over the years John Fox have looked at cheaper alternatives for Breakers over 2t, but have reverted back to Montabert being their leading Breaker brand.
He comments: “The Montabert Breakers are extremely reliable. With all their years of experience the Breakers have evolved and adapted to embrace new technology. Over time, I’ve seen them have less and less moving parts making them virtually maintenance free today. Providing the operator greases the tool bushes regularly, they are low maintenance, they are easy to work, and we rarely have a breakdown.”
The V55 is one of the favourite models at John Fox. Cheaper alternatives just don’t compare. They’ve tried them and always go back to the market leading brand.
An excellent example of this is a local Quarry where John Fox had been supplying their cheaper alternative brand, but then introduced the V55 into the quarry. The quarry’s secondary breaking output more than doubled.
Another quarry in the area have also replaced their own premium brand Breaker with a V55.
As Gareth concludes: “You get what you pay for. Montabert Breakers are more reliable, have more power and the variable speed is a bonus. The Breaker can sense the density of the material and adjusts its speed to suit thereby making it more economical and giving better fuel usage. Parts are easy to get hold of and due to the sealed unit accumulator, they are extremely easy to maintain, meaning less downtime for the customer.”
“We now work with Worsley Plant for all our Montabert requirements, who always provide us with a great level of service.”
