SPEED OF CHANGEOVER, SAFETY, TIME & PROJECT SAVINGS FOR ELFORD

“I’ve used other grabs but they are nowhere near the standard of Rotar. Rotar is stronger, well built and durable. Their pulverisers far outshine others on the market – it’s an animal.”

A recent investment in the Lehnhoff fully automatic quick coupler system has allowed Elford Demolition to use the right tool for the right job on all their projects.

Despite only being in operation just over a year and a half Elford Demolition has pooled together a wealth of experience in the demolition industry and has grown rapidly and now enjoying a £5m turnover. The company offer demolition, remediation, asbestos removal and earthworks UK wide from their base in Wednesbury and also have their own recycling yard.

New to Lehnhoff they are already reaping the benefits. After a trip to the Lehnhoff factory they took delivery of their new kit in November 2018.

They also have a range of equipment from Rotar including a RDP32 Pulveriser and three RG48 Grabs. More recently they have invested in a V3500 Hammer from Montabert.

These demolition attachments are all used across their eight excavators, six of which are now equipped with Lehnhoff. They have four VL250s and two VL210s, one of which is on their high reach.

Elford Demolition had been thinking about quick coupler systems for a while and had used other models previously. They approached Andrew Purse, Business Development Manager for Worsley Plant to find out more about what the Lehnhoff system had to offer. But they didn’t just stop their research there, as they also talked to other contractors who ran Lehnhoff and made a trip to the Factory to reinforce their decision. They even went to Worsley Plant’s Head Office in Middlewich.

John Turner, Contracts Manager for Elford Demolition said:

“We felt quick couplers were the way forward. We were extremely impressed with Lehnhoff. The quality of product was second to none, and they have the backing of Komatsu. Speaking to other customers also helped us make the decision. We also had great feedback on Worsley Plant – their quality of service and back up. When we took the decision to change over to Lehnhoff we had no issues and our projects weren’t delayed – it was a very quick and efficient process. I’d even say it was done with military precision!”

John has previously used Rotar kit at his former company and feels they are the best demolition attachments on the market. He added:

“I’ve used other grabs but they are nowhere near the standard of Rotar. Rotar is stronger, well built and durable. Their pulverisers far outshine others on the market – it’s an animal.”

Four months in the benefits of Lehnhoff are clear to see. Elfords have one machine working changing from grab to shear. It’s saving on labour, project time and machine productivity. They’ve invested in less machines and instead invested in Lehnhoff.

Rob Davis one of the Operators adds: “The safety aspect is very important too. We are removing men form risk. They don’t have to get out the cab. We have the LSC adding to the safety and the 15 second changeover is making their working day more efficient. We are using the right tool for the right job.”

“Worsley Plant is our go to attachment company. Andrew Purse is like one of the team and we trust his expert advice. Now we’ve made these investments we don’t look back. We know we’ve made the right decision.”
