TWO WEEK’S WORK IN ONE DAY WITH OUR NEW REMU XO SCREENING BUCKET

“Using the Remu XO Bucket had made this job significantly easier. We used to import sand for padding and take materials off site.

We were using dumpers and lorries to import and move materials to the work site and some places difficult to get to, which was proving time consuming and expensive for us.”

A Surrey based Groundworks company has invested in a Screening Bucket from Remu.

The Remu XO2150 SB model is already reaping rewards for Powell Groundworks.

Based in Reigate, Surrey and founded in 1987, the company offers groundworks services to a wide range of customers.  They include, Housing Developers, Golf Courses, Schools and for the National Trust amongst others.

Apart from groundwork, they do civil engineering, landscaping and site clearance, etc. and will be using the Remu on all of these projects.

The bucket is currently working on one of their Volvo Excavators on a ground source heating project for a School on the outskirts of Reigate. This is the bucket’s first job for the company. This involves drilling 160 bore holes and trenching for laying pipeline into the ground. They then need to pad the pipes and backfill.

Will Powell, the Owner of Powell Groundworks explains:

“Using the Remu XO Bucket had made this job significantly easier. We used to import sand for padding and take materials off site. We were using dumpers and lorries to import and move materials to the work site and some places difficult to get to, which was proving time consuming and expensive for us. Now, we are using the Remu to screen fines as we go and producing a 15mm and down size material which is ideal for padding. We are then using the remaining spoil over the padding and there’s no waste to be removed off site.

The speed of the bucket is outstanding.  It is taking us a day to do what before would have taken us a couple of weeks.  That fact itself speaks volumes.”

Will decided to invest in a screening bucket a few months ago and looked at other buckets on the market.  He tried out some other makes but was impressed with the strength of the Remu bucket and its build quality.  He approached Matt Giddings at Worsley Plant who arranged a demo for him.

Matt adds: “The demo allowed Will to see the benefits of the Remu bucket over others he had looked at previously.  It’s like comparing plastic to rock in some respects as it has such a superior strength and durability.”

Powell Groundworks see the Remu being a great asset in the future.  On other jobs it will allow them to clean up sites in addition to using it for padding.  More recycling can be done on site and less will be taken to landfill.

Will expects the bucket will have paid for itself with the savings he’s made on its first job!  All in all a very worthwhile investment.
