MEET THE TEAM – ANDY CAPES

Meet the Team - Andy Capes

What different jobs have you done for the company?

Truck Driver but also help out in the workshop or wherever needed.

In your current role, what are your day to day responsibilities?  Describe a typical day?

There isn’t a typical day in my role as they are all different, the general flow of things though is start by doing daily vehicle checks in line with DVSA regulations then heading off out to deliver and collect kit from our customers.

What’s the best bit of your job?

Being out on the road, travelling around, getting to see the country and meeting our customers (and hopefully leaving them with a smile on their faces)

What’s the worst bit of your job?

Traffic delays, inconsiderate motorists and bad weather!

Why do you like working for WP?

It’s a brilliant company filled with great people from top to bottom, a lovely friendly family atmosphere where everyone treats each other with respect. It’s a very special place to work with a unique feel.

Why do you think WP has become a successful company?  Or just say some positive things about WP.

If I had to pick one thing in particular that I feel makes WP so successful it would have to be the fact that everybody is prepared to go the extra mile to give the customer top notch service, the kind that keeps them coming back time after time.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I like to spend time with my family and also enjoy my boat(s), occasionally coupled with a spot of fishing.

What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Reliable, loyal and compassionate

Where would be your ideal holiday destination?

Somewhere not too hot. I’ve recently been to The Isle of Mull which was absolutely beautiful, in fairness Scotland is a favourite destination but ones I have earmarked for the future are Iceland, Norway, Denmark and the Faroe Islands, probably with plenty of trips to Scotland and other areas of the UK in between!

Tell us something about yourself that no-one would expect of you?  Or what is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

I sang Panis Angelicus (if you’re not familiar with it look up Luciano Pavarotti on YouTube) in front of a few hundred people as part of the service at a friend’s wedding several years ago (not sure I could hit the high notes or remember the words now)
