How long have you worked for WP?
Over 9 and a half years.
What different jobs have you done for the company?
Only the one – Marketing and PR Manager.
In your current role, what are your day-to-day responsibilities? Describe a typical day?
The nature of marketing means that every day is different. I might be updating content on our website, sending thank you letters and discount vouchers out to customers, or designing adverts or brochures. If we have new product news to share, I might be working with one of our supplier’s marketing teams to put a press release together. Some weeks I might be out on a customer site putting a customer case study together and getting some video footage of the attachments in action.
What’s the best bit of your job?
The variety of the role and getting to work closely with all our overseas suppliers. I also love going out to see customers on site, writing case studies, and seeing how our equipment is having a positive impact on their business.
What’s the worst bit of your job?
Putting statistics together – I prefer the creative side of my role. Stats are important though to know how our website is performing and how successful campaigns have been.
Why do you like working for WP?
It’s a great company to work for. That’s why I’ve stayed so long. It’s like a big family, and extended even further with all the suppliers. Sean is a great leader with a wealth of knowledge that is great to tap into to help with my role.
Why do you think WP has become a successful company?
The staff are a great team, dedicated and experts in their field. We also have great relationships with our suppliers and offer some of the leading attachments in the world to our customers.
What do you do when you’re not at work?
I love running and do this 4 times a week. I try to mix it up a bit with some swimming and cycling. I also play golf but need to get better and try to play once a week. I also make silver jewellery and do an evening class which I enjoy so much that I’ve set up my own website – not sold much yet though!
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Creative, flexible and dedicated
Where would be your ideal holiday destination?
I’ve been lucky enough to visit quite a few places. I loved Vietnam and the Maldives but if it’s somewhere new – I want to do a tour around the Deep South of the USA.
Tell us something about yourself that no-one would expect of you? Or what is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
When I was on holiday in New Zealand I did a skydive in the morning and a bungee jump in the afternoon.
What’s your biggest achievement?
Aside from having a happy life with lots of great friends and family, I guess getting my degree and building a career I enjoy. Also, running a half marathon in under 1 hour 50.
