Worsley Plant are delighted to welcome a new addition to their growing team. Joe Brand has recently joined the company as Hire and Transport Manager.
Starting his career as an apprentice scaffolder in the Construction Industry, Joe quickly progressed to the role of Operations Manager at a Civil Engineering & Groundworks company. Seeing a gap in the market in his home territory of Cornwall, Joe and his friend decided to set up a Plant Hire company offering excavators, dumpers, and rollers to name a few. Together they grew the business to become a big player in Plant Hire & Haulage throughout Cornwall and into Devon.
Despite the success of the company, Joe and his family wanted to relocate, and as he explains, “Unfortunately, I couldn’t take the company with me. I was looking for a new challenge and an adventure with my family relocating to the north of England. The role at Worsley Plant was particularly appealing, as I could bring my transport and operations experience to it and help the company at this important stage in its growth. I’m looking forward to the challenge”
In his new role, Joe’s previous experience will be a huge asset to the company. He will be responsible for all the transport and delivery requirements for attachments leaving and arriving at Head Office. He’ll also be keeping the stock database up to date, producing hire and sales quotes. Not only that, but in his wide-ranging role, he will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and compliance of the company’s heavy goods vehicles.
Sean Heron, Worsley Plant’s MD commented:
“As the company grows, it is becoming increasingly important to have someone managing the stock leaving and coming into the yard. Making sure a customer’s attachment is delivered on time is key. It’s also important that items coming in for service and repair are turned around quickly to reduce customer downtime. With the increase in hire stock and our growing vehicle fleet, we wanted an expert in the driving seat. Joe definitely fits the bill”
